Almost two years ago now when I first started with the concept designs I did consider hex layouts. I ultimately decided to go with a square design for backwards compatibility reasons. Most of the major companies that product miniatures are either on a round or square 25mm base. Although, this shouldn’t be an issue, with my design you could use miniatures that are set on a square, round, or even a hex base. The playability will still be the same.
Thinking about it now though, having a hex floor plan would create a unique design and feel. This is definitely something to think about for future projects.

Hex dungeon, that would look pretty cool. I'm not too sure how much demand there's out there for it though. I see most mini's are set in square, round, or even oval bases.

True, minis are set on specific bases, but some RPGs have in game combat rules for hex maps. I figured later on if there is enough demand, hex might be a good addition.

I agree...having some hex dungeons would allow for greater flexibility.
